Bright Doctor — Delete your account
This page explains how to request deletion of your Bright Doctor
account and the data linked to it. The app is published on Google Play as
Bright Doctor by Bright Health
(com.brighthealth.doctor).
Option 1 — Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open the Bright Doctor app and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the dialog, then tap Delete my account.
- If prompted, re-enter your password to confirm (required for security).
Deletion starts immediately and cannot be undone. You will be signed out when the process completes.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, email brighthealth247@gmail.com from the email address on your account. Include:
- Subject line: Bright Doctor account deletion
- Your full name and registered email
- Your medical license number (if on file)
- A statement that you want your account permanently deleted
We will verify your identity and complete the request within 30 days.
What we delete
When your account is deleted, we remove or anonymize, where technically possible:
- Your Firebase Authentication account
- Your practitioner profile (name, email, phone, photo, bio, availability settings)
- Push notification tokens and device registration for your account
- Your backend user record and app-specific data tied to your user ID
- Payout method details stored only for your active account (where deletion is supported)
What we may keep
Some information may be retained after account deletion when required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
- Professional verification records (license copies, identity checks) — up to 7 years after account closure where regulations require.
- Consultation records and chat history with patients — typically 5–10 years under medical record-keeping rules.
- Earnings and payout transaction records — as long as needed for tax, accounting, and fraud prevention.
- Crash and diagnostic logs that do not identify you — up to 90 days.
Third-party services
We instruct our service providers (Firebase, real-time calling) to stop processing your account data when deletion completes.
